reading update 04/18/13

why is my alarm going off?  That’s what I thought this morning, because it is Saturday right? Maybe it’s because I stayed up late last night to read?   Don’t you hate that when your schedule seems all out of wack?  I did get up, let the dogs out, picked up the house and made it into work on time. 

Anywhooo I have got to get back into my regular blogging schedule.  Weekly Menu on Mondays,  Book Updates on Thursdays…and fun in between!  So since I remember to share my menu with you this week I might as well hop into my book updates.

So far this year I’ve read and/or listened to 39 books! Amazing right:) my goal for the year is 100 so I’m actually a little bit ahead of schedule.

What I finished reading this week – I’ve already talked about that here…and since then I also finished this book.  I’m a machine:) just two easy reads.

 

 

 

Currently Reading/listening to -

I just stared Barrel Fever by David Sedaris last night so I’m not far enough along to have anything to say about it. it was given to me by my friend/accountant so I’m not sure what to expect but he said it’s great. I believe it’s a bunch of short stories

 

And Lover at Last, swoon, can’t wait to really get into it.  I was 3^rd on the waiting list at the library and a friend send it to me electronically and I’m reading it on my mother in laws nook.  Obviously I’ll need to delete it before I give the book back because I’m fairly sure gay vampire love affairs aren’t something she would be interested in.

 

Clearly based on the cover of this book alone you can see why I wouldn’t leave it on my mother in laws nook!

I’m listening to Covet by J.R. Ward, who wrote the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. The whole reason I grabbed it is because I know that I’m going to go through BDB withdraw once I’m finished with Lover at Last and so I figured why not at least try out the Fallen Angel Series.  I’m only through the second disc, but I’m not loving it yet….but we’ll see.

 

 

What’s up next –

I have several books on hold at the library. 

·         Me before you by Jojo Moyes.  I think I’ll read this book first because I’ll need a short read after I finish the books above!

·         The name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss – I have heard nothing but good things about this book so I’m excited to dig into it.

·         Where she went by Gayle Foreman – I loved If I Stay by Gayle Foreman so I’m sure I’m going to like Where she Went. 

·         Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver. It’s the second book in the Delirium series so I’d excited to get it started, but my friend said she didn’t love it as much as delirium so that’s why I’m not going to rush into it.
