Burn to eat/drink!

This weekend I’m running a 5k with some of my reading club buddies! And I’m so excited.  It’s on Saturday, so St. Patrick’s day, and it ends at the bar with lots of free beer! 

Now that’s my kind of drinking running event!

I’ll be honest I haven’t trained for the run, because I figured I’ve been running long enough it shouldn’t be a big deal. Then I got nervous, so last night at the gym I put a towel over the treadmill display and ran.  I didn’t stop until 32 minutes, which I felt pretty good about…..and really I could have kept going, but I needed to get home.  That brought me in at 2.6 miles.  So I’m thinking I should be fine running the 3.1 miles on Saturday.

I’m going to wear a green shirt, and hope that it’s not too chilly out Saturday morning. I don’t want to have to wear a jacket….I can’t run in anything bulky.  And they give you a free shirt for running which I’m oddly excited about.

I wish I had something more exciting happening in my life besides running a 5k and well we just signed up for life insurance.  They say it’s good to start planning young, and my husband is a planner.  Which I’m thankful for because I certainly am not!
