reading update 05/02/13

03 May 2013

I know I’m a day late on this, but you saw yesterday’s post right. I’m dying over here at work!

What I finished Reading this week –
I have finished several audio books this week. I haven’t had a second to actually sit down and read and when I do have the time I just want to sleep.

Don’t Tempt Me by Sylvia Day – this is my least favorite book of hers yet.  The storyline was kind of all over the place and it just wasn’t awesome.  It isn’t a stand alone book, but rather from a series, and I haven’t read the rest of the series so maybe that’s an issue. But even saying that I don’t think unless I come across them randomly I will read any more of the books in this series.
Don't Tempt Me (Georgian, #4)

Beautiful Disasters by Jamie McGuire – I think this is my favorite book of the year.  It’s about these two young college kids and their fucked up relationship….but its so good.  I can see how some people may be offended by the domestic violence in this book, but that passion to me is what made it worth reading.  Amazing.  You have read it.  like HAVE to!  This is the first book in the series and the second book is written from the perspective of the male in the relationship.  Its sitting next to my bed right now and I’m so tempted to stop reading the book I’m in the middle of to read it.  hold me back!
Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1)

And Both were Young by Madeleine L’engle- this was a quick listen. A story about a girl coming to know herself and blossom as a young teen, learning to love, and understand people.  So good.  a definite add to your to be read list.
And Both Were Young

Currently reading/listening to –
The name of the wind – I’m only 15 pages in.  this actually may be where I was in this book last week?  I just haven’t had the time but I’m hoping to dig into it tonight on the deck after work with a nice cold drink!
The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1)

I will finish this afternoon, The last letter from your lover by Jojo Moyes. I’m loving it.  I love this author. Her writing style and the way her stories are so realistic and heart wrenching.  You have to read a book by Jojo!
The Last Letter from Your Lover

And I also started listening to Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu.  I’m like 1 chapter in, so I don’t have a review.
Breadcrumbs

 What’s up Next –
I have several books to read:
  • Walking Disaster (book two, in the Beautiful series mentioned above)
  • Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys – I’ve heard great things about this book
And then all the other books I had on this list last week that I still haven’t touched! I know I know I’m slacking, blah!

I hope everyone got lots of wonderful reading done this past week.  Check out my goodreads link at the top of the page if you’re interested in my reviews and other books I’ve read.
