24 Weeks - and Viability Day!

10 February 2014

I can’t even begin to apologize for the craziness of work and then leaving town on Wednesday. We returned late last night from Ohio and so here is my post finally! Ohio had its highs and lows but I’m happy to be home and back at my normal crazy:)
Last Wednesday I got a chance to see Bear and meet with a genetic counselor and look at the baby boy’s heart, he is just perfect!  More on that later. I’ll get to the good stuff now, my belly.
I’m off to my 24 week appt. and to get weighed (really A, good timing on that coming down from being out of town for 5 days?!) I’ll let you know how everything goes once I’m back!

· How far along are you? 24 weeks today!

· Total weight gain: gosh my ass feels big….we’ll see about my weight gain on Monday, so until then in my mind I’ve still only gained 4lbsJ

· How big is baby? About the size of an ear of corn. 8.5” long and 1.5lbs

· Maternity Clothes? Yeppers! Rocking it

·Sleep? It seems to come and go.  On Saturday night I went to sleep at 8pm and was able to sleep until 5:30. That’s good!! of course I woke up for bathroom breaks, but I was able to fall back asleep!

·Best moment this week? Baby Bear is kicking like crazy. I forgot to mention last week that you can see his kicks from the outside now, so I’m psyched! Ben hasn’t Ben patient enough to wait to feel or see the kicks, but I’m sure before long he’ll catch one.

·Movement? Yes, yes!

·Food Cravings? I love salty foods but that’s nothing new.

·Food aversions? Nothing

·Labor Signs? Nothing

·Belly Button in or out? IN but getting more shallow

·What I miss? Nothing. Should I be missing something? I don’t even care about alcohol honestly.

·What I’m looking forward to? We’re headed back to my home town for a long weekend! I get to see my family, one of my best friends (and celebrate her baby shower!!), and they’re throwing me a baby shower. All good!

·Milestone? V-Day. And that isn’t Valentines Day, its Viability Day today.  After Viability Day baby’s born prematurely have a survival rate of 50%-70%. Anything before 24 weeks and the doctors can’t really do much to help baby live if its born.  So it’s a big day!

· Stretch Marks? I don’t think so, but I can’t see my ass and as I noted above its getting bigger…..

I hope everyone has a good weekend. This is it for me this week since I’m headed out of town. Expect baby shower pictures when I return!!
