Our secret trip

Ben and I are scootin out!

Right after our failed IVF I needed to leave town. I wanted to get away, and decided going to see my older sister was where I needed to be. It may sound weird that that’s what I would need because she has two kids and is pregnant again, but that’s what I wanted. 

She knows what Ben and I have been going through and has been so supportive through it all. But if I go to Dayton and see my sister then I also have to see my mom.  And if my mom knows I’m in town she’ll want me to stay with her. And she and my sister don’t get along very well so it would be hell. For reals. I would spend all my time there being stressed about the awkwardness between the two of them.

So I decided I would sneak into town, hibernate in my sister’s house, and let my heart heal with the love of her whole family.  But then Ben decided he wanted to come, and so it’s a bit more complicated because he prefers to drive. So once there we’ll need to figure out a place to hide his truck. My mom lives a mile away from my sister and if she saw Ben’s truck we would be done for. Also the neighborhood my sister lives in is quite protective, so we can’t just park it a couple of streets over. Someone would call the police to report an out of state vehicle parked on the street.

But we’re braving it and will keep our fingers crossed we won’t get caught.

The flip side to sneaking in town is that I won’t be able to see my grandparents, and I would love to see them. But I can’t. I will be there for approx. 36 hours and if my entire family (approx. 45 people) knew I was in town it wouldn’t be the relaxing getaway I need.

So wish us luck! Tonight I’m cleaning and packing. The plan is to leave Friday morning!! eeek.

Oh and while I’m there I’m going to have my sister cut/color my hair. Don’t worry I’ll post before and afters:)
