My bookshelf/Goodreads

10 May 2012

I have decided that I would like to share more with you about what I’m reading.  I love to read, always have, but I’m terrible at reviewing them! So sorry in advance.  I think the first book I read in a day was Judy Blume’s: Are you There God?  It’s me, Margaret.  I loved that book.  I was recently thinking about purchasing it for my 8 year old niece and then quickly decided maybe she was too young for it still.

Anyways, (I’m always getting sidetracked) I love to read.  I spend my drive to and from work listening to books on tape and I read at lunch and after dinner.  My MIL actually once said to me, do you think you’re neglecting your husband…..um, silence.  Is it weird that after dinner he watches something on TV and I read on the sofa next to him or sometimes in bed?  I kinda don’t think so.

A while back a friend told me about Goodreads and I opened up an account. (here) that shiz is addictive.  I read on my lunch break and want to update my status.  I was never like this with Facebook. But there is something so gratifying about reading 20 pages and getting to put it in Goodreads only to see you’re now 33% finished with the book.  Success over a third of the way there!

So I added at tab at the top of my page that will connect you to what I’m reading, check it out sometime. And I’ll try to remember to post what books I’m reading and when.

I recently read 50 Shades of Grey and loved it….although I hear there are a lot of really good books like this. (ahem:erotic)

In the Car - Yesterday I finished Shophia Kinsellsa’s: You’ve got my Number.

I liked this book much better than her ‘Shopaholic’ series.  I felt like in that series anytime the girl spent money I was going to have a heart attack.  How did she never learn??!  But this book wasn’t like that at all. And it was funny.  And I listened to it in the car so I should also mention I really liked the narrator.  Fantastic Job!

In the car – I started a new audio book as soon as I got home last night, for the 5 minute drive to my in-laws house!  I’m listening to Kristin Hannah’s, On Mystic Lake.  I’ve loved all of the other books I’ve read of hers so I’m excited to see where this one goes.

Reading - And I’m reading the final book in The Bronze Horseman series, The Summer Garden by Paullina Simons.

I loved loved the first one, quite possibly one of my favorite books of all time.  I actually got it for my mom for mother’s day.   I love the Paullina has continued on with the series and we’re able to see what happens to the love between Alexander and Tatiana.  At the end of the first book I was literally searching for any piece of information I could find out about the second book until mine came in the mail!!  And then I started another LONG book.  (I always do this)

Anyways I’m about 28% (ok exactly 28%) of the way through this book. I mean it is over 700 pages long.  I hope to finish it by this weekend, but at the rate I’m going that’s not going to happen.  And I’m out of the house late tonight so I’ll won’t get to my book until after 9:00 probably.

Up Next – I don’t know yet what I’ll read after The Summer Garden.  I have the Nora Roberts Bridal series (forget exactly what it’s called) to read.  A lady I work with brought them in for me.  and I also want to read the next two books in the 50 Shades of Gray series…..I do have Will Grayson, Will Grayson waiting for me at the library.

Any suggestions are always welcome! What are you reading?
