reading update 05/09/13

09 May 2013

How is it already Thursday again and I need to update you on what I’m reading?! I might need to make this an every other week update.  I went through a bit of a lull this week. I was supposed to be reading The Name of the Wind but I never really got into it, and didn’t want to pick up another book when I was supposed to be reading that one…..but I’ve moved on for now. Last night I picked up a book and am already 160 pages in.  I love to read but sometimes I just get stuck.

What I finished Reading this week –
I finished last week, The last letter from your lover by Jojo Moyes. I loved it. This woman wakes up after a car accident and slowly comes to remember what her life was like before the accident after finding a letter that a lover sent her.

I need to get my hands on everything ever written by Jojo
The Last Letter from Your Lover

I listened to Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu. It was fine. I didn’t love or hate it but I thought the story was weird. My friend Brittany said that it incorporated like every nursery story every written, which I didn’t get because I apparently know no nursery stories.  So yeah, not a huge success for me.

And last but not least I finished listening to Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys.  People love love this with a passion. On a book club board I frequent people are head over heals for it.  I thought it was good, not great, and in the end I felt like it kind of ended quickly and left me hanging.  So eh, read it or don’t, you won’t be missing out.

Currently reading/listening to –
Walking Disaster – I started this since I couldn’t get into The name of the wind.  I of course love it, I loved Beautiful Disaster.  This book is the same story but told from another person’s perspective.   So good!
Walking Disaster (Beautiful, #2)

I am listening in the car to The Host.  I like it.  it’s by the same author that wrote the Twilight series.  I’m intrigued.
The Host (The Host, #1)

And on my phone (in the office and while gardening) I’m listening to The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas by John Boyne.  I’m not very far in so I don’t have any thoughts to share with you on it yet.

What’s up Next –
Sooo many books! And I just had 2 more come in at the library.  Not getting into The Name of the Wind has put me behind, must catch up!
