a new year, a new ass.....19 weeks

It's January 2, 2014 and I’m officially over all holiday’s this year. The Christmas stuff is packed away and my house looks halfway decent, I could probably use to mop, but otherwise hello 2014!!

This year is the year our baby boy/girl is born!! And finally we’re putting new flooring in our house.  If you know me IRL at all you know that yes my new flooring ranks right up there with having a child. Like seriously.

So what did I do on New Year’s Day? I went on a dog walk, ate waaay too much food including dessert out at a restaurant, discussed designing some new bathrooms on the IL’s property, then had an emotional breakdown and cried myself to sleep.  Really I’m OK, maybe I was just hormonal and tired which proves to be a seriously wicked combo for a pregnant lady.  I woke up in the middle of the night (Ok, my phone said 10:28, but it felt like the middle of the night) and Ben got me more water, gave me a back rub and a sweet kiss on the head all while he thought I was sleeping. He must have for a small second decided his crazy pregnant wife was ½ OK and needed some comforting.

But I’ll get on with it.  yesterday I turned 19 weeks pregnant, which means this time next week we’ll know if baby Roberts is a boy or a girl!!!  Here is my ass/bump pic for you to see.

· How far along are you? 19 weeks

· Total weight gain: Ben said he think I probably weigh close to 160 now. I don’t think he really knows:) if I’m close to 160 that means I ate way too much the past couple of weeks.

· How big is baby? 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of an heirloom tomato

· Maternity Clothes? Still need to get to target. I’m making due with non-maternity tops and am almost exclusively wearing maternity pants now, but really for the comfort.

·Sleep? Currently I’m sleeping like a rock again. So glad that cold is basically gone

·Best moment this week? Bringing in the new year chillin’ on the sofa dreaming about baby R!

·Movement? Its getting stronger and I’m feeling it more often.

·Food Cravings? Nada, trying to stick to the small snacks

·Food aversions? Nothing.

·Labor Signs? Nothing

·Belly Button in or out? IN!!

·What I miss? Nothing?

·What I’m looking forward to? The anatomy scan on Wednesday!! And seeing the baby again. Its been so long:)

·Milestone? No big milestones this week

· Stretch Marks? Nothing yet

 

I hope everyone had a nice and safe New Year’s Eve and day!!!

Happy Happy New Year!!

I’m so excited what this coming year has in store for me and my small family and for so many good friends of mine. I honestly still can’t believe I’m pregnant and in 2014 I’ll be bringing a baby into our home!

So that said I have lists. No, not resolutions, but to do lists!  Here goes:

Flooring – new throughout the house

Doors – new closet doors in the nursery. I hate bifolds!

Fireplace – whitewash and then reevaluate and possibly paint the mantle

Half wall cap – paint white

Kitchen  - stain cabinets darker, new countertops, new sink

Nursery – new flooring (of course see above), new doors, window treatments, recover wing back chair, design and put together room! 

I’m sure there’s more but I’m starting with a reasonable list, right?! haha.  I’ve decided to design the nursery based around a crib that my mother in law has offered to give us.  It needs some adjustments made to it but for the most part it’s a very sturdy and beautiful crib

BFN

So I tested this morning and got a BFN.

I wasn't planning on spending money on pregnancy tests quite yet, but apparently i'm going to be one of those crazy people that tests every cycle.  Who am I kidding, of course I am that crazy person. Always have been so i'm not sure why this would be any different.

Honestly I feel fine about it.  I think my DH is a little disapointed. I think he thought --

unprotected sex = baby

and while I know that sounds ignorant i'm sure there are a ton of guys out there that think the exact same thing.  His response to to the BFN was well next month we'll have more sex!  now if your period would just come on so we can get on with it.

So tonight i'm headed out drinking. I wasn't sure how I was going to get out of drinking had I gotten a bfp.
