22 weeks – tardy I know, but there was a snowstorm!

23 January 2014

Seriously people, my computer is broken, I couldn’t make it down my street to the house due to a snow storm that dropped 12” ish on us in approx. 9 hours and so I was stuck at my in-laws! It was fun, but it put me behind schedule with you.

But what is one day? Well in the land of growing belly’s one day makes a huge difference. My belly has officially popped. Like I look pregnant and every day I look down and think where did that come from, and crap how big am I really going to get? It also doesn’t help that while being stuck indoors I ate more than I typically would:) how do you stop yourself?! I can’t, never could, pregnancy doesn’t make it any different.

So here goes, 22 weeks!

· How far along are you? 22! Getting closer to Viability Day and to seeing the baby boy again

· Total weight gain: with the growth spurt going on I’m sure a decent amount! But we’ll find out in a couple of weeks. I’m not going to weigh myself during pregnancy, I’ll drive myself mad. I’m happy, healthy, and feel pretty darn good so why go there.

· How big is baby? Um huge? Haha no really he is about the size of a papaya and is 8” long and 1.2lbs

· Maternity Clothes? Same. Yes, but still wearing some non maternity clothes.  I’m really glad I got new cardigans because those are obviously my new best friends

·Sleep? Still having early morning insomnia. Whatever, as long as I fall asleep quickly at night then it’s fine. I’m not extra tired or anything from waking up early, so that’s good.

·Best moment this week? Laying on the sofa and having H rub my belly. Like for real he just reached over and started rubbing away, and then he grabbed my boob and I thought to myself its so typical. Here I am thinking, such a good dad loving on his baby, and then he goes straight for the boobs. Ha.

·Movement? I AM feeling this guy from the outside and I want Ben to feel it, but it hasn’t happened:( soon enough!

·Food Cravings? Still loving all food

·Food aversions? Nothing

·Labor Signs? Nothing

·Belly Button in or out? IN!

·What I miss? Being able to eat without feeling like my belly is going to explode! How much stretching can one belly handle?!

·What I’m looking forward to? Ben is out of town so I have the bed all to myself!! Actually the house all to myself!!

·Milestone? Eh no big milestones this week I don’t think. The baby has hair and eyebrows now…so that’s good

· Stretch Marks? Still piling on the lotion. Although I think I’m going to need to change up the brand because what I’m putting on now is like peeling during the day. Not like layers of skin, but like fabric pills…if that makes sense at all.

Also, we’re leaving town for a wedding this weekend and Ben suggested I bring my bathing suit so I can swim and take some weight off my joints! Um I only have a bikini…..do it or not?

18 weeks 1 day

26 December 2013

A Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all!! It appears that for Christmas my baby bump arrived! Haha. Maybe it’s just lasagna, but I think it’s more than food!  Sorry I’m late with this, but yesterday I chose to spend my day lounging with the family and eating yummy food!

·         How far along are you? 18 weeks 1 day

·         Total weight gain: nothing at my 16 week appt. and I haven’t weighed myself since

·         How big is baby? About the size of a mango, 6” long and .5 pounds

·         Maternity Clothes? Sometimes. it’s becoming more necessary and my shirts are getting shorter so I foresee a trip to Target in the near future

·         Stretch Marks? Nothing yet

·         Sleep? Um not as good this past week, but I have a cold. I ordered myself a humidifier for our bedroom and I’m hoping that will help with the cold and constant congestion.

·         Best moment this week? The belly becoming visible

·         Movement? Yep! It’s happening more and more often and it feels like the baby is rolling around in there too

·         Food Cravings? Nothing specific. Still loving food but I’m not all that hungry.

·         Food aversions? Nothing.

·         Labor Signs? Nothing

·         Belly Button in or out? IN!!

·         What I miss? Still nothing!

·         What I’m looking forward to?  A very calm and relaxing New Years. In years past I’ve always felt like I HAD to do something, but this year I have an excuse to take it easy.

·         Milestone? No big milestones this week. We’re almost ½ way there though!

Happy Holidays

My fertility bracelet

14 January 2013

I have this online group of friends that I met years ago…I think I’ve known them all for about 5 years.  Every year we do a Christmas present exchange and this year my secret santa sent me a fertility bracelet (along with other things) that she wore when she was struggling with infertility.  There are two charms on it, one that says hope and the other is a turtle which is the sign for fertility. She wore it to all her doctor’s appointments and since I received it, I’ve been doing the same thing. She now has a beautiful baby girl!

Today on my way to the RE I looked down at my wrist and it was so comforting to know that I had her support and love, and that I also had this special gift from her.  I can only imagine how special the bracelet became to her and for her to be able to share it with me is so unbelievable, I feel so blessed to have her in my life.

Today’s appointment went well. I have two follies measuring 20mm and my lining is measuring at a 9.5 which is perfect.  So we’ll continue to monitor me and hope things continue to progress as wonderfully as they have so far. Blood work is due in later today.  The doctor would like for the follies to be about 25mm before I ovulate, but we’ll just have to wait and see what they do.  At this point the doctor is planning on letting me ovulate on my own but they will trigger ovulation if they have to.

You’re welcome

This was me tipsy and cooking on Christmas Eve

Who knew?

20 December 2012

That this would be the longest work week in the history of work weeks. I’m swamped and this is a traditionally slow time of the year in my profession.  I have price increases on almost everything I need to purchase for my clients and I still need final approval on items before I can actually buy them. And I’m leaving town tomorrow. So yeah. Should be interesting.

So I’ve been MIA. Hopefully I’ll have the chance to stop by and say hi while I’m out in Ohio.  Oh yeah, I mentioned that right (besides the small mention above?). Tomorrow we’re leaving town to head home to Ohio and we won’t be back until Wednesday. I’m excited and ready to leave but at the same time I would really love to just stay home and relax in my cozy little home.  But I’ll get to see my grandparents and nephews and that’s really what it’s about.

I hope everyone else’s week is going more quickly than mine!

Its Sunday night….

16 December 2012

And I’m all snuggled in our house by the fire. I’m making a huge batch of pasta sauce for my grams and gramps for Christmas and I’ve eaten way too much today.

The Christmas Cards have been ordered so tomorrow I’ll pick them up and get them out into the mail hopefully!

Ben and I had a midday date and went to see the Hobbit, which was awesome, and that’s it.  I see Bad Santa in my future tonight.  Don’t tell me you haven’t seen that movie. It’s a Christmas move, it’s vulgar, and it’s something the whole family will enjoy…well at least my family, since it’s all adults!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Christmas Party No. 1

11 December 2012

And it was sooo much fun!!  Saturday afternoon was my Christmas party with all my book club friends.  Let me clear something up for you, they’re not actually book club friends.  I mean they are, but I met them on the internet and so rather than saying to people like my mother in law, “I’m going to see my internet friends,”  I say I’m going to see my book club friends. Its easier. And I’m not made fun of for it:)

Anyways, the party was fun.  There was a lot of wine (surprised?), mimosas, cookies, cheese and crackers, crackers and hummus…and a lot more! And I can guarantee more than one of those goodies was inspired by pinterest.

So without further ado…pictures (taken by Janet)  of our gathering!

ornament exchange!

p.s. I told her I was going to use these on my blog.  See I got permission

I love Christmas
